Job description
Required Experience
  • Experience of ILR and bradycardia pacing implant and follow-up (VVI(R), DDD(R)) being able to work independently.
  • Experience of ICD, CRT-P and CRT‑D implant and follow‑up.
  • Experience working in a catheter laboratory performing device implants, angiography, primary PCI, and device follow‑up clinics.
  • Experience performing and completing a recognised Heart Rhythm Device qualification such as IBHRE, EHRA or BHRS.
  • Experience working unsupervised in advanced level techniques in implantation and follow‑up of ICDs and biventricular devices.
  • Experience working unsupervised in the cardiac cath lab for interventional procedures.
  • Experience supervising physiologist‑led exercise tests.
Responsibilities
  • Provide cardiac physiologist support for left and right heart angiography and PCI.
  • Provide physiologist support for IABP in the cardiac cath lab.
  • Perform single and dual chamber pacemaker implant including hardware selection.
  • Perform ILR, single and dual chamber pacemaker follow‑up, including troubleshooting, programme optimisation and clinical recommendations to medical staff in the pacemaker clinics and on the wards as required.
  • Perform multi‑chamber pacemaker/ICD implants and follow‑up.
  • Record all device implants and follow‑ups on the TomCat data system. Training will be given.
  • Supervise exercise tolerance testing upon completion of the local Exercise Testing Competency Framework.
  • Analyse Holter monitors.
