Job summary

A reputable teaching agency is seeking a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) for their Home Tuition Service in Oldham. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging learning activities and supporting pupils' progress. Previous experience in a similar role and a full UK driving licence are required. This full-time position starts ASAP or in September 2025, with mileage reimbursement for travel to students' homes.

Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) - Home Tuition Service
Job Title: High Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) Level 4
Area: Oldham, Manchester
Start Date: ASAP / September 2025
Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: Competitive (dependent on experience and responsibilities)
Working hours: Monday to Friday, 36.40 hours per week

Responsibilities
  • Complement the work of teachers by taking responsibility for agreed learning activities under supervision.
  • Plan, prepare and deliver engaging learning activities for individuals, small groups, or whole classes.
  • Monitor, assess, record and report on pupils\' achievement, progress and development.
  • Contribute to the coordination, development and delivery of our home tuition service.
Requirements
  • Previous experience as a HLTA or in a similar role.
  • A full UK driving licence held for at least 12 months.
  • Access to your own vehicle with business insurance (essential, as the role involves travelling to pupils\' homes).
  • Hold Right to Work in the UK
  • Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service OR be willing to process a new application
  • Provide two professional child related references
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to work independently.
  • A commitment to supporting children\'s learning and wellbeing.
Additional Information
  • Mileage undertaken each week will be reimbursed in line with Oldham Council guidelines (agency to establish and agree rate).
  • This is a full-time position starting ASAP / September 2025.
