Overview

The Trustees at Victorious Academies Trust would like to appoint a Higher-Level Teaching Assistant for PE and Sports at Greenside Primary School, Greenside Lane, Droylsden, M43 7RA. Start date: October 2025

Role: HLTA for PE and Sports (full-time)

Salary: £30,060–£32,654 per year (actual salary for term-time equivalent: £25,724–£27,944). Grade F Points 17–22

Contract: Permanent, full-time, 36 hours per week, Term Time Only

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality sporting activities and foster a positive, inclusive environment for children.
• Inspire and support children to develop a lifelong love of physical activity and to enhance physical, social, and emotional well-being.
• Plan and deliver safe, inclusive, and enjoyable PE sessions and related activities.
• Manage groups effectively and maintain a positive learning environment on and off the field.
• Support the development of motor skills, coordination, fitness, and teamwork; promote values such as perseverance and fair play.

Qualifications and experience

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to motivate and engage young children.
• Solid understanding of child development and ability to adapt activities for different ages and abilities.
• Experience of working with hard-to-reach young people or diverse communities or targeted groups is essential.
• Experience of running competitions, events, and activities.
• A recognised coaching qualification and knowledge of safeguarding practices are essential.
• Minimum of a National Governing Body Coaching Qualification (Level 2); desirably other coaching qualifications and experience in a variety of sports.
