Start Date - September

I am looking for a motivated and adaptable Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) with general subject experience to support secondary schools in Taunton.. In this role you will work closely with teachers to support children's learning and development. The HLTA will be responsible for assisting the lesson delivery and leading small group sessions. You may also be helping students with individual needs by adapting materials and maintaining a positive and well-organised learning environment.

This role is September start and a Full Time role. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with experience with SEND students, excellent communication skills, and the ability to support students in making measurable progress. The school offers a collaborative environment for teachers and the opportunity to further your continuous professional development.

Responsibilities :

  • Support the delivery of lessons
  • Lead small-group support sessions.
  • Help manage classroom resources.
  • Cover lessons when required under direction
  • Work with teachers to track and support pupil progress.
  • Work collaboratively with the Geography department and wider staff.

Requirements :

  • HLTA status or experience working at HLTA level
  • Experience with SEND students
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • Experience and confidence working in secondary schools
  • Strong subject knowledge and lesson delivery skills.
  • Effective classroom and behaviour management
  • Understanding of safeguarding procedures.
