HGV Technician / HGV Mechanic / Truck Technician (Erith)

Location: Erith

Salary: £45,760 per year

Hours: Monday to Friday 08:00 - 16:30 and one in two Saturdays 05:00 - 13:00

The Role

We are seeking an experienced HGV Technician / HGV Mechanic / Truck Technician to join a busy and award-winning workshop in Erith. In this role, you will carry out high-quality servicing, repairs, and inspections on HGVs and trailers to ensure vehicles remain roadworthy, safe, and compliant. You'll also have access to excellent manufacturer training and development opportunities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carrying out major and minor repairs on HGVs, trailers, and other vehicles
  • Completing regular servicing, inspections, and preventive maintenance
  • Maintaining accurate service records and completing all required paperwork
  • Supporting breakdown repairs when required
  • Keeping the workshop safe, clean, and well stocked
Skills and Qualifications

Essential:

  • Level 3 NVQ, City & Guilds or IMI qualification in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair
  • Experience as an HGV Technician / HGV Mechanic / Truck Technician
  • Ability to identify worn or faulty components in line with DVSA standards
  • Full UK driving licence

Desirable:

  • Experience with diagnostics, electrical systems, and advanced repair work
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
