Overview

HGV Technician / HGV Mechanic

We are seeking an experienced HGV Technician to join our fleet maintenance unit in Peterborough. Working in a modern well equipped workshop with 4 bays, an ATF lane, and 2 full-length pits, you'll be carrying out a wide range of servicing, diagnostics, and repairs on trailers, tractor units, rigids, and tail lifts. This is a permanent 4 on 4 off night shift position, offering excellent pay, stability, and a supportive team environment.

Key responsibilities
  • Carry out inspections, servicing, and repairs on trailers, tractor units, rigids, and tail lifts
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical faults
  • Ensure all vehicles and trailers meet safety and compliance standards
  • Complete accurate records, job cards, and maintenance documentation
  • Work efficiently within a professional fleet workshop environment
  • Adhere to all health & safety policies and workshop procedures
Requirements
  • Proven experience as an HGV Technician / HGV Mechanic / Trailer Technician
  • Strong knowledge of HGV and trailer systems, including tail lifts
  • Full UK driving licence (HGV licence an advantage but not essential)
  • Ability to work effectively on nights within a busy fleet environment
  • Commitment to delivering high-quality, reliable workmanship
