Job summary

A leading recycling company in Barking is seeking an HGV Technician to join their small team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the company's fleet of LGV/HGV vehicles are maintained and roadworthy. Candidates must hold a Level 3 mechanical engineering qualification and have experience working on HGV vehicles. Qualifications

Job description
Overview

My client is a leading recycling company based in Barking, East London. They now have a position for an HGV Technician to join their small team at their site. The successful HGV Technician will carry out inspection, diagnostics, service, maintenance and repair of the company's fleet of LGV/HGV vehicles.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure all company vehicles are kept legal and roadworthy.
  • Conduct thorough inspections to identify any potential problems and safety concerns.
  • Ensure efficient workflow and timely completion of repairs.
  • Conduct PMIs (Preventative Maintenance Inspections) and associated documentation.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults using diagnostic tools (Texa & Eclipse).
Requirements
  • Must hold a relevant mechanical engineering qualification to Level 3 as a minimum.
  • Previous experience of working on HGV/LGV vehicles.
  • Able to work well under pressure and on own initiative.
  • Hold Class 1/C+E driving licence - desirable.
Benefits
  • Annual salary is £40,000 - £55,000 depending on experience.
