Job summary

A leading fleet maintenance company in Hinckley is seeking an experienced HGV Technician to handle maintenance and repair of their vehicles. The ideal candidate should possess a City & Guilds certificate in Mechanical Engineering and have previous experience as an HGV Mechanic. Responsibilities include performing repairs and ensuring vehicles meet safety standards in line with health and safety legislation. The position offers a salary of £41,055 PA, with a shift pattern from Monday to Friday and benefits including 25 days of holiday plus bank holidays.

Holidays : 25 days plus Bank Holidays, increasing per year worked

Responsibilities
  • As an HGV Technician you will be responsible for carrying out general maintenance and repair work on the company's fleet of vehicles and trailers, ensuring that all vehicles are in safe working order.
  • Your role requires you to execute repairs to the highest standards while conducting in-depth engineering work and diagnostics.
  • You should be able to work effectively both independently and as part of a close-knit team.
  • It’s crucial that all repairs are performed in accordance with current Health and Safety legislation and company policies.
  • Additionally, you will need to safely operate all relevant equipment, machines, and tools, and complete all associated documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
Key Skills & Knowledge
  • The ideal candidate should hold education to City & Guilds standard in Mechanical Engineering or possess an equivalent engineering discipline.
  • Previous experience as an HGV Mechanic in a similar role is essential.
  • While it is preferable to hold an HGV C+E licence (Class 1) and a current ADR, these are not mandatory.
