Job summary

A leading recruitment agency is seeking an experienced HGV Technician to join their client's team in Bridgwater. This permanent position offers a salary of up to £46,400 per year based on experience, with working hours from 07:30 to 17:00, Monday to Friday. The ideal candidate will have an NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Heavy Vehicle Service and Maintenance, strong diagnostic skills, and the ability to work independently. A commitment to safety and quality is essential.

Qualifications

  • Understanding of electronics, hydraulics, and wiring diagrams.
  • Willingness to travel and work flexible hours, including overtime.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose faults and carry out repairs on chassis and mounted equipment.
  • Service vehicles to VOSA standards and prepare them for MOT inspections.
  • Ensure all work is completed efficiently and to company standards.

Overview

We are looking for a skilled HGV Technician / Mechanic to join our clients team in Bridgewater. This is a permenant position.

45 hours per week | between 07:30 and 17:00 Monday to Friday

Up to £46,400 per year (DOE)

The Person
  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Heavy Vehicle Service and Maintenance
  • Proven experience in commercial vehicle repair and servicing
  • Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills
  • Understanding of electronics, hydraulics, and wiring diagrams
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
  • Willingness to travel and work flexible hours, including overtime
The Role
  • Diagnose faults and carry out repairs on chassis and mounted equipment
  • Service vehicles to VOSA standards and prepare them for MOT inspections
  • Complete body and chassis repairs and ensure compliance with Department of Transport specifications
  • Maintain accurate records and enter job details into company systems
  • Liaise professionally with customers and work independently at customer sites
  • Ensure all work is completed efficiently and to company standards
  • Follow health and safety procedures and conduct risk assessments where required
  • Undertake training to enhance technical skills and knowledge
