Job summary

A recruitment agency is seeking a fully qualified HGV Technician in Manchester. You will work primarily on tractor and trailer units, performing a range of tasks including preventative maintenance and MOT prep. The ideal candidate should have City & Guilds qualifications or equivalent. Qualifications

  • Additional accreditations such as IRTEC or EV qualification are desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine and preventative maintenance.
  • Prepare vehicles for MOT.
  • Schedule servicing to DVSA standards.
  • Conduct 6 or 8 weekly inspections.
  • Inspect and correct hydraulics and pneumatics.
  • Perform electrical and wiring inspections and corrections.

Overview

Are you a fully qualified HGV Fitter / Mechanic / Technician living in the Greater Manchester area looking for a workshop based role?

Are you looking for a Monday to Friday, day shift role, 8am – 5:30pm

Hours : 45 per week. Salary up to £44,000p / a, pension, sick pay, holidays etc, free, secure on-site parking.

The role of the HGV Technician

The role of the HGV Technician :

You will be working on a variety of tractor and trailer units of differing makes and models, including gritters, RCV's Refuge vehicles, Diesel and EV vehicles.

The type of work as an HGV Technician you can expect to be carrying out includes (but is not limited to)

Responsibilities
  • Routine (and preventative) maintenance
  • MOT preparation
  • Scheduled servicing to DVSA standards
  • 6 (or 8) weekly inspections
  • Hydraulics and pneumatics
  • Electrical and wiring inspections and corrections
Requirements
  • Ideally you will be fully qualified (City & Guilds), NVQ or equivalent.
  • Additional accreditations such as IRTEC or an EV qualification would be desirable but not essential.
