Salary: £33,000 - £35,000 DOE.
Location: Thame, Oxfordshire.
First Military Recruitment is currently seeking a Class 2 Day Driver on behalf of one of our clients.
This role involves regular driving on local palletised collect & deliver work.
Our client encourages applications from ex‑military personnel, however all candidates will be given due consideration.
Duties and Responsibilities for the Class 2 Driver
- Collect and deliver to assigned locations in a timely manner, ensuring all specific company and pallet network processes are followed.
- Support the Transport Manager and Shift Supervisors where required to ensure all health & safety regulations are met.
- Ensure you are pro‑active in keeping your CPC training up to date (paid for by the company).
- Comply with all health & safety regulations as set out by the company and regulatory bodies.
- Deal with all customers politely and with respect.
- Ensure any issues are raised through the appropriate channels in a professional manner.
- Always act as a positive representative, ensuring your appearance and that of your vehicle always reflects this.
- Support the business, when required, with ad hoc distribution requirements and any roadshow activities.
- Work 45 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
- Hours to be worked between 07:30 and 17:30 (with 1 hour lunch break).
- Saturday mornings: 07:00 – 13:00 (once per month, paid as overtime).
- Magazines and tactical shift: once per month, paid as overtime.
- £1,200 per annum allowance.
Skills and Qualifications for the Class 2 Driver
- Ability to work on your own and manage your delivery route.
- Willing to drive 3.5t – 18t vehicles.
- Working as part of a team as well as on your own.
- Dealing with customers in a friendly and courteous manner.
- CPC Cat C qualification required.
- At least 12 months experience driving a Class 2 vehicle.
