Job summary

A leading environmental services company in the UK is seeking a Driver to operate specialist vehicles for waste management. The role involves extensive travel and loading/unloading tasks, requiring an HGV Class 1 Licence and an ADR Licence. Salary: £15.84 per hour (current role holders are earning over £50,000 per annum with extras included)

- Additional hours worked during the week or Saturdays will be paid at time and a half

- Sundays and Bank Holidays are paid at double time

- Hourly uplift when working away from home, including paid accommodation and meal allowance

Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday - Friday, 07:00 - 15:30

Weekends as required plus a shared out-of-hours emergency call-out rota system

Working away from home for extensive periods on a national basis.

Location: Brownhills, WS8 7DG

What you'll be doing

With one of the largest growing fleets in the UK, our drivers are pivotal to delivering essential services. They work hard to serve their local communities and make a positive impact every day.

This role includes working away from home, sometimes for extensive periods on a national basis

  • Operating High Air Flow Machine / Specialist Vacuum Tanker Vehicles
  • Loading and unloading of hazardous and non-hazardous waste from customer sites and disposal sites
  • Additional duties will be required such as storage tank / vessel cleaning under confined space regulations, high pressure water jetting and repackaging of hazardous materials
  • Dealing with plant shutdowns, trauma and crime scene cleaning, chemical emergency response, confined space and working at height rescue services
  • Complete daily checks of the vehicle and use the onboard technology to complete work notes
  • Comply with all traffic laws and legislation and ensure their work environment is safe and clean at all times
What we're looking for
  • HGV Class 1 Licence
  • An up-to-date CPC / DIGI Tachograph card
  • Valid ADR Licence (Tanks & Packages)
  • Ability to pass a medical suitable for active wearing and use of breathing apparatus due to the nature of the role
