Overview

A Vacancy at Norfolk and Norwich University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. This opportunity is for a dynamic individual to join the Cardiology team as a Health care Support worker (HCSW) – band 3. The role is based on Kilverstone Ward, an acute cardiology ward at NNUH. You will provide nursing care for patients with acute cardiac conditions and work closely with the team including other HCSWs, Registered Nurses, and members of the multidisciplinary team (Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapists).

Full training and support will be provided to the successful applicant. The Cardiology team is friendly and supportive, and we encourage applicants who are caring, compassionate, and have excellent communication skills to apply.

Responsibilities
  • Provide and maintain high standards of nursing care for patients with acute cardiac conditions (e.g., post-MI, pre- and post-procedures, heart failure, arrhythmias, pre- and post-cardiac surgery).
  • Support delivery of a high-quality, safe, and compassionate healthcare; act as a role model and uphold NNUH PRIDE values (People-focused, Respect, Integrity, Dedication, Excellence).
  • Assist patients with personal care, consider nutritional needs, take routine and post-procedural observations, and maintain high standards of care and documentation.
  • Communicate clearly and work closely with registered nurses and other HCSW colleagues.
  • Participate in training and development opportunities, including HCSW study days and bespoke departmental training.
  • Contribute to audits as required and support department-wide learning and development.
