Overview

Within NHS Tayside we are expanding opportunities for Health Care Support Workers to develop. As a Healthcare Support Worker, you will be working at the heart of our multidisciplinary teams delivering high quality, patient-centred care. You will be supervised and report to an Assistant Practitioner or Registered Nurse. This will require you to communicate effectively with a broad range of individuals, both verbally and in writing, to share our commitment to maintaining high standards in everything we do, and to demonstrate that you can work effectively within a team that behaves in accordance with our vision and values.

We are seeking to recruit people who are committed to delivering outstanding patient care, taking pride in what they do, and a willingness to learn and develop their skills and practice. A professional manner and excellent communication skills are essential. You must work well in a high-pressure environment and have the ability to adapt to challenging situations.

The post will be based in Acute Medicine for the Elderly West (Ward 33), a 20-bed unit supporting a 48-72 hour patient journey. This area provides inpatient care which is patient-centred and aims to maximise each patient’s potential for recovery, supported by an excellent Multidisciplinary Team.

  • Comply with the national Mandatory Induction Standards for Healthcare Support Workers (2009) and the Code of Conduct for Healthcare Support Workers.
