Job description
Adult Audiology Service

A Vacancy at University Hospitals Bristol and Weston NHS Foundation Trust. Do you have a passion for patient care? The Adult Audiology service at UHBW sees patients at both major hospitals in Bristol as well as at Weston-Super-Mare General and outreach sites across the city and beyond. This role provides an opportunity to work in a friendly and forward-thinking department. The department is committed to developing staff through informal or formal training routes.

THIS VACANCY MAY CLOSE EARLY IF A HIGH VOLUME OF APPLICATIONS ARE RECEIVED.

Responsibilities
  • Undertaking daily room and equipment preparation.
  • Carrying out reviews and repairs of hearing aid systems at repair/follow-up clinics. This includes otoscopic examination of the ears, impression taking, repairing/reprogramming/replacing NHS digital hearing aids whilst working to national and locally agreed operating procedures. Care will be provided under the guidance and supervision of qualified staff as needed.
  • Responsibility for stock control and the maintenance of adequate levels of consumables in designated areas of the department.
  • Maintenance of accurate patient information records and test results using the departmental patient database.
  • Ensuring tools and equipment used are adequately maintained for the safety of patients and staff, feeding back any Health and Safety concerns to Audiology staff.
  • Responsibility for the timely ordering and receipting of stock using Trust Procurement software.
  • Responsibility for postal repairs, battery issues and general postal enquiries.
  • Responsibility for the management of the Assistant HCS inbox, including responding to patients requests and liaising with the wider Audiology team.
  • Responsibility for the coordination of ear mould dispatch and returns.
  • Responsibility for coordinating warranty and reconditioned hearing aid returns.
