Healthcare Assistant - Theatre (Bank)

The Harbour Hospital in Poole is part of Circle Health Group Britain’s leading provider of independent healthcare with a nationwide network of hospitals & clinics performing more complex surgery than any other private healthcare provider in the country.

We have an opportunity for a Healthcare Assistant to join their team of staff in the Theatre department.

This is a bank role working on an as and when required basis you will be required to supplement staffing levels during busy periods and provide cover for existing staff in times of annual leave or absence. Working hours are Monday to Friday between 7:30am-6:00pm or 8:00am-8:00pm with weekly pay provided.

Duties of this role include :
  • Assist in delivering safe and effective care across the theatre department supporting patients throughout their surgical pathway.
  • Prepare theatres for procedures including equipment checks stock preparation and ensuring the environment is clean and ready.
  • Support with the safe movement and positioning of patients pre- and post-operatively under direction of registered practitioners.
  • Engage with patients in a respectful dignified and empathetic manner helping to alleviate anxiety and ensure comfort.
  • Communicate appropriately with members of the multidisciplinary team contributing to smooth handovers and coordinated care.
