About The Role

Cornerstone Healthcare is looking for experienced and passionate and confident Care Assistant to join our award-winning team at The Burren. The Burren is a brand-new purpose-built service location South Bristol, providing high quality care &supporting residents with varying complex neurological, mental health & dementia care needs provided in a comfortable and safe living environment. Our approach focuses on individualised care, considering the whole persons unique strengths and challenges, rather than just the diagnosis.

What do you need?
  • Minimum of 1 years' experience working in Care within the UK (essential)
  • Experience working with adults that present with complex needs including challenging behaviours and mental health needs
  • Ability to develop and maintain good working relationships with colleagues, residents, and their families
  • A caring and empathetic approach to residents and their visitors
  • Effective communication skills (both written and verbal)
What hours will you work?

Total hours per week: 38.5 (12 hour shifts)

Night Shifts

What will you be doing?

Supporting all aspects of daily living including personal care, mealtimes and social activities

  • Observe resident progress against planned goals and report changes in the residents’ condition or care needs
  • Supporting all aspects of daily living including personal care, mealtimes and social activities
  • Helping residents to remain as independent as possible
  • Respecting residents right of choice, privacy and dignity at all times
  • Communicate effectively with other staff and members of the team

About The Company

Cornerstone Healthcare provide specialist care for vulnerable people who present with challenging behaviours associated with complex neurodegenerative and mental health needs. Residents who live in our homes primarily have a neurological degenerative condition such as Dementia with an underlying mental health condition which makes them inappropriate candidates for dementia care homes or residential care homes for the elderly. We currently have 4 services based in Waterlooville, Curdridge, Bristol & Mytchett.
