Role Overview

We are seeking compassionate, dedicated, and experienced Support Workers to join our dynamic team at Chippenham Community Hospital. This role involves providing high-quality care and support to patients with a range of physical, rehabilitation and chronic health needs, helping them maintain independence and dignity during their hospital stay.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist patients with personal care tasks, including washing, dressing, feeding, and toileting
  • Support therapeutic activities and mobility as directed by nursing and therapy staff
  • Promote independence and emotional wellbeing among service users
  • Maintain cleanliness and a safe environment within the ward/unit
  • Report changes in patient condition to the appropriate clinical staff
  • Support clinical teams with observations, documentation, and equipment checks
  • Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to ensure patients\' holistic care needs are met
Requirements
  • Minimum of 6 months of NHS experience
  • Care Certificate or equivalent qualification is highly desirable
  • Enhanced DBS required (can be processed via Medacs if not already held)
  • Up-to-date immunisations: Hepatitis B, MMR, TB, and Varicella
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Flexible and reliable with a strong work ethic
