Overview

We have an exciting opportunity for a Healthcare Assistant to join our leading Primary Care team at HMP Brixton, a category B/C Prison located in London. We are looking for Healthcare Assistants for our Early Days in Custody, Unscheduled Care and Primary Care Teams covering areas such as screening, bloods, substance misuse, ECGs, wound care and much more. Shift Patterns

Hours: Rota basis – Potential shift patterns are: Monday – Friday – 07:30–18:00; Weekends – 08:30–17:30.

Responsibilities
  • Support the registered nurse in implementing an agreed plan of care in association with the patient and in accordance with instructions and training received whilst promoting safe patient care.
  • Be willing to develop and apply new skills to maintain and enhance clinical service delivery.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • NVQ Level 2/3 or equivalent in Health and Social Care.
  • A non‑judgmental and compassionate approach.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Good IT skills and IT literacy.
  • Ability to work within a busy environment.
  • Ability to work unsupervised whilst following policy and procedures.
  • Ideal applicants would have experience in a hospital, community or prison environment.

Salary
