Job summary

A leading training organization is seeking a motivated Observation Assessor for its Health & Social Care Apprenticeship team. The role involves field-based assessments, requiring travel to observe learners in care settings. Ideal candidates should possess an Assessor qualification and a Health & Social Care qualification at Level 3, 4, or 5, along with at least two years’ experience in the sector. Qualifications

Observation Assessor – Health & Social Care Apprenticeships

Location: Field-based (Travel required)

Contract: Full-time, Permanent

We’re looking for a motivated and inspiring Observation Assessor to join our dedicated Health & Social Care Apprenticeship team. This is a rewarding and dynamic role where you’ll travel to workplaces across your region, carrying out holistic observations of learners and helping them achieve one of the most important qualifications in their careers.

What you’ll be doing
  • Visiting workplaces to observe learners in real-life care settings, ensuring they meet apprenticeship standards.
  • Providing clear, constructive feedback to support learner progression and achievement.
  • Planning and conducting progressive in-person visits (average of 3 learners per day).
  • Managing your time effectively to maximise travel efficiency and learning outcomes.
  • Ensuring all assessments meet Ofsted, awarding body, and internal quality standards.
  • Supporting with other key activities such as mock assessments, professional discussions, and learner reviews.
  • Promoting safeguarding and wellbeing at all times — making sure every learner feels supported and safe.
What we’re looking for
  • A genuine passion for education, quality, and empowering others to succeed.
  • Excellent planning, time management and communication skills.
  • Confidence working independently, with the flexibility to travel long distances and stay overnight when needed.
  • An Assessor qualification (D32 / D33, A1, TAQA, or CAVA).
  • A Health & Social Care qualification at Level 3, 4 or 5.
  • At least 2 years’ experience in the Health and Social Care sector (minimum Senior Carer level).

Salary: Level 3 - £27,000 basic + bonus opportunity OTE to £32,750

Salary: Level 5 - £30,000 basic + bonus opportunity OTE to £35,760
