Gordons Partnership, a London and Surrey based law firm, is looking for a specialist lawyer to handle health and social care regulatory work and pharmacy regulatory matters.

Key Responsibilities

50% of the role involves working with the Health and Social Care Provider team, focusing on operational compliance, CQC and Ofsted regulation, including:

  • Advising on CQC and Ofsted applications for registration and on suspected unregistered provision
  • Challenging draft inspection reports
  • Defending providers subject to civil and criminal enforcement action by Ofsted and CQC
  • Advising on safeguarding enquiries
  • Advising on contractual disputes involving care providers, particularly regarding fees
  • Potential judicial review challenges against regulatory bodies

50% of the role involves partner work on regulatory and disciplinary matters for pharmacists and pharmacies, including:

  • Assisting individual pharmacists in Fitness to Practice proceedings
  • Advice and representation of pharmacists and/or pharmacy businesses at inquests
  • Bespoke advice on medicines legislation
  • Applications to ICBs concerning NHS pharmaceutical services and appeals
  • Involvement in criminal prosecutions, High Court appeals, and judicial review
