Job summary

A leading employment services company in Tamworth is seeking a candidate to oversee health and safety compliance. The role involves planning risk assessments and developing HSE systems. Candidates must have a NEBOSH qualification and strong UK health and safety knowledge. The position offers 20 hours per week, a pay rate of £18.00 - £21.00 per hour, and benefits including weekly pay and 28 days annual leave.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and ensure all risk assessments, method statements, and safe systems of work are in place and maintained.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) systems in line with current legislation.
  • Oversee day-to-day compliance across office and workshop environments.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date compliance records, including Health & Safety files and Fire Safety.
  • Plan and arrange site maintenance and safety inspections.
  • Deliver health & safety training and guidance to staff and site contractors.
  • Oversee health surveillance for engineers and paint shop employees.

Skills

NEBOSH qualification or equivalent
Strong working knowledge of UK Health & Safety legislation
Up-to-date knowledge and practical application of HSE best practice
Ability to work independently and confidently manage compliance
Job description
Pay & Working Hours
  • 20 hours per week

  • Monday to Friday (flexible working pattern - open to discussion for the right candidate)

  • £18.00 - £21.00 per hour, depending on experience

  • Immediate start available

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and ensure all risk assessments, method statements, and safe systems of work are in place and maintained

  • Develop, implement, and maintain Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) systems in line with current legislation

  • Oversee day-to-day compliance across office and workshop environments

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date compliance records, including:

    • Health & Safety files

    • Fire Safety

    • DSEAR

    • RIDDOR

    • COSHH

    • Risk registers

  • Plan and arrange site maintenance and safety inspections

  • Deliver health & safety training and guidance to staff and site contractors

  • Oversee health surveillance for engineers and paint shop employees

Skills & Experience Required
  • NEBOSH qualification or equivalent (including Fire Safety)

  • Strong working knowledge of UK Health & Safety legislation

  • Up-to-date knowledge and practical application of HSE best practice

  • Ability to work independently and confidently manage compliance
