Overview

Role

As the Health & Safety Manager (UK), you will support the UK Head of Health & Safety in ensuring compliance with legislation while also promoting a proactive, positive health & safety culture across the business. This is a fantastic opportunity for a driven Health & Safety professional to join a values-led organisation, working across a diverse manufacturing and office environment, with scope for mentoring, development, and career progression.

Responsibilities
  • Support managers in developing effective health & safety plans.
  • Assist with maintaining and updating risk assessment databases.
  • Source and manage PPE.
  • Carry out risk, noise, COSHH, and manual handling assessments.
  • Support the delivery of health surveillance programmes.
  • Lead accident investigations and ensure remedial actions are completed.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of H&S policies, procedures, and best practice.
  • Undertake regular safety audits/inspections and provide feedback to managers.
  • Identify training needs and help deliver appropriate H&S training.
  • Collect and report on H&S performance data, including accidents and near misses.
  • Build effective working relationships across all levels of the organisation.
  • Represent the company with external stakeholders to maintain credibility and compliance.
  • Provide advice and support on H&S queries from across the business.
  • Support ad-hoc projects and organisational initiatives as required by the Head of H&S.
Requirements

To be successful as the Health & Safety Manager, you will be NEBOSH qualified with at least 5 years' experience in a Health & Safety role.

Desirable experience
  • IOSH membership (desirable).
  • Confident communicator with strong IT and reporting skills.
  • Able to influence and build relationships at all levels.
  • Proactive, solutions-focused, and collaborative in approach.
