About the Role

Out client is a well‑known environmental company offering health and safety consultancy services to a diverse client base. They are currently recruiting for an experienced and knowledgeable Health & Safety Consultant based in and around the Blackpool area. The ideal candidate will come from a technical occupational hygiene/water hygiene/asbestos background, will hold the NEBOSH or equivalent health and safety qualification and will be fully conversant with health and safety guidelines. Applications from Kirkham, Lytham St Annes, Fleetwood and the surrounding areas will be considered.

Key Qualifications & Experience
  • Strong technical/consultancy/management/auditing background in asbestos, legionella or other relevant sectors.
  • Holder of NEBOSH, CMIOSH or equivalent health & safety certificates.
  • Practical working experience in the specified industries (asbestos, legionella, fire, etc.).
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to organise own workload and deliver presentations.
  • Fully conversant with health and safety legislation, policies & procedures.
  • Proficient with the Microsoft Office package and database use.
  • Extensive travelling involved – must have a flexible attitude to work.
  • Interest in qualifications such as P401/P402/P403/P404/P404 or S301 CCP is a plus.
Main Responsibilities
  • Attend sites to carry out inspections relating to the health & safety performance of teams.
  • Undertake health & safety risk assessments and manage arising issues.
  • Carry out health & safety, staff and compliance audits, etc.
  • Provide technical support to the company’s clients.
  • Produce comprehensive audit, health & safety and environmental reports.
  • Conduct safety training courses.
