Health, Safety and Compliance Manager

Manchester

College based role - 36 hours per week

Salary £36,515 – £40,236 per annum

Im recruiting for a Health, Safety and Compliance Manager to join a well-established college in Manchester. This is a key role responsible for creating and maintaining a safe environment for staff, students, visitors, and contractors, while managing the colleges soft facilities.

The Role

The successful candidate will implement a sensible, risk-based approach to health and safety management. The focus will be on promoting risk awareness rather than unnecessary risk avoidance, ensuring that the college maintains a safe and compliant learning environment. You will also manage soft facilities services across the college.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure a safe environment for staff, students, visitors, and contractors
  • Implement and maintain health and safety policies and procedures
  • Take a reasonable, proportionate approach to risk management
  • Promote risk awareness and a safety culture across the college
  • Oversee soft facilities management, ensuring services meet operational standards
  • Monitor compliance with relevant legislation and college policies
About You
  • Working towards the NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent)
  • Recognised Health and Safety qualifications
  • Qualifications in Literacy and Numeracy
  • Strong knowledge of health and safety legislation and best practice
  • Excellent organisational, communication, and leadership skills
  • Experience in managing compliance and facilities in an educational or similar environment is desirable
