About the opportunity

Everton in the Community is seeking to appoint a Health Interventions Practitioner to join our Children & Youth Services team who support children and young people who are at high risk and facing vulnerability. The Health Interventions Practitioner will inspire and empower young people and adults to pursue positive change, live healthier lives and transition and contribute towards creating ‘stronger communities and brighter futures’. The role involves implementing, delivering and overseeing health programmes, working closely with the Health Interventions Coordinator to ensure programmes align with the goals and objectives of EITC’s five-year strategy - Trinity Project.

Responsibilities
  • Programme Planning and Implementation: developing, organising, and delivering projects to meet goals and objectives in line with funding obligations and participants’ needs; identify and report issues and support solutions for smooth running of programmes or projects.
  • Compliance and Safety: comply with all relevant policies, procedures, training and regulations.
  • Relationship Building: develop and maintain positive relationships through effective and timely communication.
  • Marketing and Promotion: work with internal and external stakeholders to collate impact suitable for external promotion in line with branding guidelines.
  • Delivery of 1-1 personalised mentoring and targeted group work, raising awareness of various health topics.
Safeguarding
  • Understand the Club’s Safeguarding policy, procedures and best practice guidelines.
  • Apply this understanding to ensure safe working practices, appropriate reporting of concerns and contributing to an Anti-bullying environment.
Who we are looking for

We are looking for an individual with a track record planning, organising, and overseeing youth, health-led initiatives in community and school settings. Experienced in working with young people and young adults from diverse backgrounds, the successful candidate will demonstrate the following skills, knowledge and experience:

  • Qualifications (health/nutrition/mental health)
  • Certificate/Training in Safeguarding
  • Experience delivering in schools, community and educational settings
  • Experience delivering workshops and targeted interventions to a high standard
  • Ability to gain the trust of participants to inspire and motivate positive choices
  • Ability to competently and confidently present on health (mental and physical) topics
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with relevant partners/organisations

The closing date of this advert is Monday 29th September 2025. We reserve the right to close the vacancy early should we receive a substantial amount of applications. This position will be offered on a 12-month fixed-term contract, 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday, based across EITC campus, schools and community venues across Merseyside (with a particular focus on Speke, Garston and Knowsley). Due to the nature of the role, there is an expectancy that the successful candidate can work evenings, when required to meet the demands of the service.
