Job description
Overview

We’re looking for compassionate, motivated healthcare assistants (HCA) to join our secure, adolescent and assessment and treatment wards at Brooklands Hospital: a centre of excellence for learning disability and autism healthcare.

As a HCA, you’ll play a hands‑on role in a patient’s therapeutic care. You will make a significant difference to people with a learning disability and Autistic people, by making them feel safe, valued and supported in their recovery.

You’ll help to build trust, promote independence and contribute directly to positive clinical outcomes in your area.

We are especially seeking people who are passionate about reducing health inequalities for people with a learning disability and autistic people, advocating for fair access to care, and championing inclusion.

You’ll work as part of a skilled team to deliver meaningful daily activities, support therapeutic interventions and help maintain safety and security across our wards.

You may already have experience as a healthcare assistant or support worker, or of caring for someone with a learning disability or autism.

If your application is successful, you will be invited to a recruitment day in January. You’ll hear from our patients, their carers, meet our teams, and learn what it’s like to be a healthcare assistant within our services.

If you care deeply about making a real difference and want to be part of a supportive team that can develop your skills further—we’d love to meet you.
