Job description
Key Responsibilities
  • Learner Support: Provide tailored academic and emotional support, fostering a positive learning environment.
  • Offer one-on-one and group support to students with SEN.
  • Implement strategies from individual EHCPs and track progress.
  • Promote social and emotional well-being by offering guidance and encouragement.
  • Classroom Management: Ensure a safe, respectful, and inclusive learning space.
  • Use differentiated teaching methods to accommodate various learning styles.
  • Monitor and report on learner progress, behaviour, and well-being.
  • Collaboration with Staff: Work collaboratively with other coaches and external professionals.
  • Develop and implement lesson plans tailored to learner's specific needs.
  • Safeguarding and Well-being: Promote a respectful, inclusive, and safe learning culture.
  • Understand and follow safeguarding procedures.
Job Requirements

Essential

  • Functional Skills Level 2 in English, Maths, and ICT or equivalent.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to plan, organise, and prioritise workload.
  • Experience working with young adults with additional needs, including social, emotional, and mental health challenges.
  • Knowledge and experience in supporting students with EHCPs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a proactive attitude.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young adults.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately.
  • A full, valid driving license is an essential requirement for this role

Desirable

  • Qualification in education, teaching assistant training, or a relevant field.
  • Experience working with EHCPs and understanding of statutory processes.
  • Knowledge of relevant behavioural management strategies.
  • First aid or other relevant welfare training.
