Job Description:

TJX Europe is seeking a Health & Safety Manager to join our Wakefield processing centre. You will coordinate and manage the environment, health, and safety functions across the distribution site, promoting best practices and creating a safety-aware culture. Responsibilities include implementing safety programs, managing waste and environmental initiatives, and ensuring compliance with legislation.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Ownership of site SHE plan and compliance with health and safety policies.
  2. Participate in health and safety committees and advise accordingly.
  3. Manage incident control and reporting procedures.
  4. Stay updated with legislation and best practices, and implement necessary actions.
  5. Lead safety training and induction programs for staff.
  6. Provide guidance to line managers on health and safety matters.
  7. Promote accident prevention and health promotion activities.
  8. Manage accident and incident reporting and investigations.
  9. Ensure compliance with statutory reporting requirements (RIDDOR).
  10. Oversee first aid facilities and support.
  11. Review and update risk assessments and implement improvements.
  12. Manage waste and environmental practices on site.
  13. Build relationships with local authorities and regulatory bodies.
  14. Partner with operations to reduce sickness and absenteeism through occupational health initiatives.
Key Skills, Knowledge & Experience:
  1. NEBOSH qualification.
  2. Experience in occupational health and safety, waste management.
  3. Strong influencing and leadership skills.
  4. Ability to build relationships at all levels.
  5. Customer-focused approach.
