This is an outstanding opportunity for an experienced Health & Safety professional to join a long‑established demolition contractor with an exceptional safety record, award‑winning management systems, and major projects across the UK. With continued growth and the opening of a new London office and further plans in the pipeline, this role offers the rare chance to lead the H&S department within a highly successful, profitable business.

This contractor has operated for over 35 years with a reputation for excellence, delivering demolition projects ranging from small works through to large‑scale high‑rise schemes valued up to 4m. With a nationwide footprint, a stable client base, and a strong turnover, the company continues to expand and now seeks a Health & Safety Manager to lead and enhance its high‑performing systems.

In this role, you will head up the H&S function, undertaking site audits, maintaining ISO‑accredited systems, supporting tenders, advising directors, and ensuring compliance across projects. This is a highly influential position, working closely with the MD and senior leadership, with autonomy to shape standards and maintain the company's H&S departments exceptional safety reputation.

The ideal candidate will bring strong construction H&S experience, excellent communication skills, and confidence working across multiple projects. NVQ Level 6 or a NEBOSH Diploma is required.

The Role:
  • Conduct site audits, inspections, and risk assessments
  • Advise directors and managers on all H&S matters
  • Support safe, compliant project delivery across multiple sites
  • Maintain and actively develop ISO 45001, 14001, and 9001 management systems
  • Produce and update company policies and procedures annually
  • Manage accreditations, certifications, and safety memberships
  • Support tenders and PQQ submissions
  • Maintain approved supplier and subcontractor lists
  • Conduct SHEQ audits to ensure legal compliance and identify risks
  • Attend monthly H&S committee meetings
  • Provide day‑to‑day support on HSE tasks across the business
The Person:
  • Strong experience in construction health & safety
  • Confident communicator and stakeholder manager
  • NVQ Level 6 or NEBOSH Diploma
  • Ability to work across office and site environments (2‑3 days on site)
