Health and Safety Manager

Barnsley | Circa £55,000 + Car or Allowance

We have been engaged by a leading civils and utility services organisation to recruit a Health and Safety Manager. The role is focused on helping to ensure the safe delivery of maintenance and capital investment projects on long-term utility contracts. Our client has an excellent track record across health and safety, and this role is critical to its continued success.

Responsibilities
  • Taking a lead role in implementing health and safety policies and procedures, ensuring compliance and keeping updated with key changes to
  • Engaging with Senior Managers, ensuring responsibilities are clear and answering technical health and safety related
  • Conducting audits, inspections, and accident investigations, using results to seek areas for improvement and development in health and safety
  • Engaging with the clients as required and other external stakeholders, acting as a key point of contact for the business.
Qualifications
  • Proven experience in a similar role ideally within civil engineering, telecoms or utilities
  • A NEBOSH Diploma and ideally a member of IOSH (or equivalemnt)
  • Good organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
  • A strong technical knowledge across relevant health and safety legislation, compliance and regulations
