Job Description

A leading manufacturer in Oxfordshire from bespoke completions to maintenance, design, testing, training and technical support are looking for a Health & Safety & Environment (HSE) Advisor to provide expert, on-site support at Oxford.

You will act as the local HSE lead for helping them maintain the highest standards of safety, environmental compliance and continuous improvement across our operations.

This role is hands‑on, collaborative and critical to our ongoing ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 certifications. You will work closely with colleagues sharing best practice and ensuring aligned HSE performance across the organisation.

Health & Safety
  • Coordinate H&S activities in line with policies and statutory requirements.
  • Manage the day-to-day operation of the health & safety management system.
  • Organise and oversee risk assessments, safety training, occupational health, first aid, fire safety, PPE, COSHH, REACH, DSE and manual handling compliance.
  • Recommend and coordinate safety‑related equipment for aircraft maintenance.
  • Issue safety alerts, support H&S forums, and encourage open safety communication.
  • Conduct incident / accident investigations and ensure accurate reporting.
  • Lead site walkarounds, inspections, toolbox talks, and promote proactive incident prevention.
  • Participate in internal / external audits and support closure of non‑conformances.
Environment
  • Support daily management of the Environmental Management System.
  • Coordinate waste management and recycling strategies in line with legislation.
  • Ensure emergency response plans remain robust and effective.
  • Manage environmental aspects / impacts linked to operational activities.
  • Support compliance and audit activities for ISO 14001.
Essential
  • Experience in a Health & Safety & Environment advisory role.
  • NEBOSH Certificate (minimum) or IOSH‑approved qualification.
  • Strong analytical, organisational, communication and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to interpret legislation and technical requirements.
  • Calm, patient, assertive and able to influence effectively.

  • Degree in H&S, risk management, engineering, management, construction or related areas.
  • Training qualification.

You need to be really dedicated and have a good all‑round good communication with all the staff, dealing with the policies and procedures, checking all medicals are up to date.
