Job description

PrepWorld are looking for a Health, Saftey & Environmental Advisor to promote and manage a positive culture of health and safety in the workplace, with the purpose of reducing any accidents and injuries in the workplace, and ensuring that all staff are provided with a safe and secure environment to work in.

Main duties:

  • Providing support and guidance to Line Management in the development and review of risk assessments and work instructions.
  • Develop and deliver team briefing meetings and toolbox talks when required.
  • Manage onsite/online RAs, SOPs and Team Briefing sign offs.
  • Assist with the development of Prepworld Safety Management System in line with ISO 45001
  • Establish a full programme of documented health & safety inspections, audits and checks.
  • Establish a structured programme of health & safety training throughout the Company
  • To conduct accident trend analysis which will identify area or accident hot spots and make sure we have timely and sufficient plans to educate teams, manage and improve the trends.
  • Investigating incidents in the workplace and writing-up accident reports.
  • Providing in-house training sessions to ensure all staff keep up to date with company safety policies.
  • Providing guidance on safety equipment, MHE and the safe installation of new machinery (future)
  • Ensure contractors details are received prior to attending site.
  • Ensure contractors details are kept up to date.
  • Complete contractor site inductions when necessary
  • Take an active role in the site environmental agenda, including the management of site aspects and impact assessments / register
  • Attend / Chair / distribute monthly health and safety meetings, monitor actions accordingly
  • Attend morning department meetings and deputise for the Health, Safety and Facilities Manager
  • Liaise with relevant contractors to undertake required works around site.
  • Liaise with Engineering department regarding defect reports / works schedule.
  • Keep up to date with all aspects of relevant health, safety & welfare at work legislation and communicate relevant changes to the business.

Who we are looking for:

  • National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health (NEBOSH) recognised qualification (Certificate minimum) - Essential
  • Strong knowledge of Health and Safety regulatory and legal framework - Essential
  • Previous experience in a similar role - Essential
  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels - Essential
  • Auditing experience - Essential
  • Experience in delivering face to face training - Highly desirable
  • Ability to foresee the possibility of risks occurring before they happen - Essential
  • Ability to pay attention to detail - Essential
  • Keeping investigations thorough, on schedule and according to the company procedure - Essential
  • Be passionate about safety and the need for hands on working with the teams. To educate, manage compliance and improve the focus and relationships with functional managers, build trust and to ensure that safety is the priority KPI - Essential
  • Food industry experience - Highly desirable

Days and hours of work: Monday to Friday, 08:00am - 17:00pm ON SITE

  • some flexibility may be required on occasion

Salary: Up to £50,000 p/a DOE
