A respected civil engineering contractor in England is seeking an experienced Health and Safety Advisor to ensure safety compliance across multiple sites. The role involves conducting inspections, delivering training, and improving H&S performance. Candidates need prior experience in civil engineering, a NEBOSH Certificate, and a proactive approach. O’Neill & Brennan are proud to be recruiting on behalf of a respected and forward-thinking civil engineering contractor based in Bedfordshire. Our client delivers high-quality groundworks, civil engineering and associated infrastructure works across the residential, commercial and warehousing sectors. Due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of work, they are seeking an experienced Health and Safety Advisor to join their team.
As Health & Safety Advisor, you will play a key role in promoting a culture of safety across multiple sites. You will support project teams to ensure all operations are carried out in line with company procedures, industry regulations, and best practice standards.
Provide site-based and office support on all Health, Safety & Environmental matters
Conduct regular site inspections, audits and risk assessments
Prepare and review RAMS, ensuring compliance with regulations and company policies
Deliver toolbox talks, site inductions and ongoing safety training
Support incident investigations and produce detailed reports with recommendations
Work closely with project managers and site teams to continually improve H&S performance
Assist with maintaining ISO and other accreditation standards
Previous experience as a Health & Safety Advisor within civil engineering or groundworks
NEBOSH Construction Certificate (or equivalent)
Strong knowledge of CDM regulations and site safety practices
Excellent communication skills and a proactive, hands‑on approach
Full UK driving licence (role involves visiting multiple sites)
