Job Summary:
The service supports procurement across the organisation with Category Manager work being split over categories of business across the organisation and works closely with commissioners to assist in the procurement of goods and services. The role reports into the Executive Director of Resources.
Key areas of focus will be: supporting the recruitment of the permanent procurement team upon completion of the ongoing consultation of the proposed redesign. Progressive pipeline to contract register work. Providing high level procurement advice on complex projects. Reviewing team reports and documents relating to procurement strategies, tenders and awards. Coordinating team FOIs. Supporting on council wide project boards where procurement representation is needed. Along with the typical duties expected of a Head of Procurement and Commercial Services
