Head of Pricing Strategy

Location : Greater Manchester

Salary : Up to £70k DOE

Hybrid : 3 days per week in the office

Full time : Permanent

We\'re seeking a confident professional to join our client’s team as a Head of Pricing Strategy. In this role you will define the strategic direction and drive revenue growth by setting our client\'s competitive pricing and offer strategy for both sports and racing. This high-impact role requires you to leverage deep sports betting market knowledge, data fluency, and commercial awareness to analyse market trends and customer behaviour, driving innovation in their pricing models and trading automation while ensuring strict regulatory compliance and operational resilience. You will work closely with the Trading and Commercial leadership to maximise their overall wagering revenues.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategically lead the definition and implementation of trading strategies to maximize margin and turnover across our client\'s Sports and Racing verticals.
  • Develop compelling medium-to-long-term offer strategies with clear Return on Investment projections for presentation to the commercial teams.
  • Drive and execute key racing projects focused on delivering sustainable new revenue streams.
  • Oversee the generation and communication of core sports KPIs and performance updates for the senior leadership team.
  • Significantly improve pricing accuracy and enhance overall margin performance.
  • Conduct in-depth analysis of market trends, competitor activities, and customer behaviour to proactively identify strategic opportunities and threats.
  • Prepare detailed reports and data analysis to facilitate productive negotiations and discussions with external suppliers.
  • Analyse and optimise daily performance data, utilising data-driven insights to enhance operational efficiency and performance.
  • Maintain and enforce strict compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Champion cross-functional collaboration with other Commercial Heads and B2C departments to ensure collective business success.
  • Mentor and support the quantitative analysts in the development and enhancement of proprietary trading programs.
  • Partner closely with the quants and B2B team to fully optimise the impact of the racing performance across the wider B2B business.
  • Act as a key support for the Chief Strategy Officer on broader commercial initiatives and strategic projects.
About you
  • Proven, hands-on trading experience within the sportsbook / iGaming industry.
  • A deep, expert-level understanding of the mathematics of betting, bookmaking, and strategic pricing models across different sports.
  • Exceptional ability in trading, customer, and risk management, coupled with a clear grasp of overall bookmaking pricing strategy.
  • Highly data literate and proficient in data analysis, able to interpret trading analytics, use insights to drive commercial decisions, and clearly communicate performance to stakeholders.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of sports market dynamics and the various betting markets offered.
  • Strong experience in identifying and addressing underperformance, alongside excellent reporting skills.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of wider industry trends and a sharp understanding of customer needs and demands within the betting sector.
  • Robust leadership and stakeholder management skills.

To achieve the top end of the salary band, proven, hands-on sportsbook / iGaming trading experience, coupled with an expert-level understanding of the mathematics of betting and strategic pricing models, is required.
