Head of Gym & Spa (Maternity Cover)

Salary: £58,000 + performance bonus

The Role

We are seeking an experienced Head of Gym & Spa to lead the operational delivery of a premium fitness and wellness offering in London. This is a maternity cover position, ideal for a strong operational leader with a passion for service excellence, people development, and high standards.

You will be responsible for ensuring exceptional day-to-day performance across gym and spa operations, driving consistency, quality, and commercial results while delivering an outstanding member and client experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage gym and spa operations with a strong focus on operational excellence
• Set, maintain, and continuously improve service standards across all sites
• Develop, coach, and inspire management and frontline teams to perform at their best
• Ensure exceptional service delivery aligned with brand, contractual, and client expectations
• Oversee compliance with SLAs, health & safety, and operational policies
• Act as a key point of contact for client management, building trusted and professional relationships
• Monitor performance through KPIs, audits, and reporting, implementing improvements where required
• Manage budgets, labour, and resources effectively to meet operational and commercial targets

About You

• Proven experience in a senior operational role within gym, spa, or health club environments
• Essential: Extensive multi‑site management experience in residential or corporate health clubs
• Demonstrable exposure to SLAs and client‑facing contract management
• Strong leadership skills with a track record of team development and engagement
• High attention to detail with a passion for standards, quality, and consistency
• Confident, professional communicator able to work with internal and external stakeholders
• Organised, resilient, and solutions‑focused in a fast‑paced environment
