About the role

We are seeking an experienced Head of Fire Safety to lead the development and delivery of fire safety strategies across multiple sites. This senior role is responsible for ensuring a safe, compliant environment for staff, students, and visitors, while fostering a strong safety culture.

Key responsibilities

  • Develop and implement organisation-wide fire safety strategies and policies.
  • Provide expert advice on fire safety legislation, compliance, and risk management.
  • Oversee fire risk assessments, audits, training, and incident investigations.
  • Influence strategic decisions on building design, refurbishment, and operations.
  • Manage and lead a professional fire safety team, building effective relationships with external regulators.

About you

  • Professional fire safety qualifications (e.g. Level 4 Diploma, NEBOSH Fire Safety & Risk Management).
  • Significant leadership experience in fire safety within a complex, multi-site organisation.
  • Strong knowledge of fire safety legislation, building regulations, and risk management.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills.

This is a permanent, site-based role, working 37 hours per week Monday - Friday and is available for an immediate start upon appointment.
