Part of LSL Property Services plc, PRIMIS Mortgage Network are the largest Mortgage and Protection Network in the UK with some 1000 firms as business partners and circa 3000 advisors working alongside us and jointly amounting to some 11% of the mortgage market share in the UK. The LSL FS division (which PRIMIS are part of) also includes TMA and Linear Financial Solutions.

We are keen to recruit a Head of Finance Operations (reporting to our Chief Finance Officer) in what is a key role in our growing business.

This role presents an exciting opportunity for a Finance professional with strong experience in leading and developing Finance Teams, in turn contributing to the success of our Financial Services Division.

The role is a UK based remote role with travel required.

Role Purpose

To lead the finance operations function for the Financial Services Division, ensuring robust financial control, statutory and management reporting, regulatory compliance, and effective cash and balance sheet management. The role provides high-quality financial information, governance, and operational insight to support decision-making, regulatory obligations, and sustainable business performance.

Responsibilities
Financial Accounting & Reporting
  • Lead the preparation of statutory financial statements and annual reports for submission to Companies House.
  • Determine and maintain appropriate accounting policies and ensure correct accounting treatments are applied.
  • Monitor and interpret changes in accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and company law.
  • Oversee preparation of tax computations and returns, liaising with external advisers as required.
  • Ensure all tax, VAT, and statutory reporting deadlines are met.
  • Maintain the integrity of the general ledger and ensure reconciliations across all finance and operational systems.
Management Accounting
  • Oversee the production of accurate and timely management accounts and management information.
  • Partner with departmental heads to support cost control, performance management, and decision-making.
Regulatory & Capital Reporting
  • Ensure accurate and timely submission of all required FCA and PRA regulatory reports.
  • Contribute to the annual budget, medium-term planning, and five-year financial plans.
  • Support stress testing activities and ensure appropriate capital and liquidity buffers are maintained.
Financial Control & Operations
  • Establish and maintain a strong financial control environment, including documented policies, procedures, and controls.
  • Ensure appropriate segregation of duties and governance, escalating reviews and approvals to the CFO where required.
  • Oversee operational banking arrangements, including opening and management of bank accounts.
  • Manage cash flow, payments, purchase ledger, supplier setup, and payroll oversight.
  • Administer finance systems, access controls, and user permissions.
Leadership & Stakeholder Management
  • Lead and manage the finance operations team, ensuring delivery against deadlines and service standards.
  • Recruit, develop, and appraise finance team members.
  • Act as the primary contact for external auditors and key finance service providers.
  • Work closely with Operations, Risk, Compliance, IT, Sales, and Group Finance to ensure effective end‑to‑end processes.
Systems & Continuous Improvement
  • Drive continuous improvement in finance systems, processes, and controls.
  • Champion the use of finance technology and data to improve insight, efficiency, and value add.
  • Support integration of data, automation, and emerging technologies where appropriate.
Skills & Qualifications
  • Professionally qualified accountant (ACCA, ACA, CIMA, or equivalent).
  • Strong background in financial control, statutory reporting, and finance operations within financial services.
  • Solid understanding of FCA regulatory and financial governance requirements.
  • Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and decision‑making skills. Educated to degree level or equivalent.
  • Minimum 8–10 years’ experience in senior finance roles, with significant experience in financial control and operations.
  • Proven experience managing audits, statutory accounts, and regulatory reporting.
  • Ability to communicate complex financial matters clearly to senior stakeholders.
  • Experience leading and developing finance teams.

Salary and Benefits Package circa £90,000 - £120,000 DOE negotiable
