Location: Southport/ Liverpool/Manchester/Bolton/Leeds/Hybrid

Fletchers Solicitors Ltd have a fantastic opportunity to join our growing Team.

To lead and develop the Personal Injury Department (PI) to meet the needs of our clients and deliver Fletchers' strategies and plans for Personal Injury.

Main Responsibilities for the role:
1. Strategy & Leadership
  • Ensure that the team provides excellent client service
  • Ensure that the team achieves their agreed performance targets by using consistent and clear leadership in the management of individuals KPI's
  • Ensure the progression of all cases in team up to the point of settlement
  • Provide inspirational leadership to PI including recruitment, motivation, training and supporting of team members as required
  • Implement and monitor departmental plans to deliver Fletchers' priorities including Project Arrow across PI
  • Support the budgeting process for PI
2. People Management
  • Lead the PI department directly managing the Team Leaders
  • Coach, develop and support managers to achieve excellent people leadership practice
  • Work with the People team to optimise the recruitment and retention of lawyers in the department
  • Role model Fletchers' Values
3. Technical
  • Provide advice and guidance on any PI issues
  • Ensure departmental policies and procedures are followed to ensure cases are progressed appropriately and client satisfaction is delivered
  • Work with internal and external partners to ensure the department delivers quality legal services with unrivalled client care in a compliant way
4. Case Handling
  • To run a reduced load of circa. 25% of a full capacity numbers varying in value and technicality Liaising with clients, experts, barristers, third party solicitors and insurers as necessary.
  • Dealing with all aspects of pre and post issue procedures in a timely and cost-effective manner.
  • Pursuing cases to conclusion.
  • Ensuring all actions as per Proclaim Action List are completed in a timely fashion.
  • Accurate time recording.
  • Maintaining client files in good order in accordance with Lexcel and other quality assurance requirements.
  • Delegate and supervise tasks to junior team members where appropriate

The ideal candidate will have:
  • Experience of successfully leading a Personal Injury Team
  • Experience of running a wide variety of Personal Injury claims - including Employers and Public Liability and RTA
  • Ability to deliver excellent client service
  • A good understanding of how to deliver and grow team productivity
  • Experience of coaching and supporting other lawyers and managers
  • Forming and maintaining positive relationships with both internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to role model good practice leadership
  • Technology literate, with the ability to use technology to enhance legal services
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to form positive working relationships with a wide variety of team members
  • Strong analytical skills
