A local authority in the United Kingdom is seeking a Head of Service in the Children’s Social Care department. This is an exciting time to join Blackburn with Darwen and we are currently seeking a Head of Service following progression of our current leader. We have progressed with our improvement journey for our Care Leavers to ensure this role provides safe, first class, cost-effective and timely services.
Reporting to the Deputy Director for Children’s Social Care, you’ll be an integral part of the Senior Leadership Team and will be the strategic lead for all Corporate Parenting services. Importantly, you will ensure the statutory duties and main principles of social work and fostering are fully embedded within our day‑to‑day practice, enabling and supporting our children and young people across the Borough to truly thrive.
We pride ourselves on building good networks and working relationships and this role will work with key internal and external partners such as health, education and the Police across Blackburn with Darwen.
