Job summary

A large educational institution in Hounslow is seeking an experienced Head of Computer Science to lead the department. This full‑time, permanent role starts from April 2026. Responsibilities include driving standards in teaching and learning, developing a comprehensive curriculum, and mentoring staff. Head of Computer Science - Hounslow

A large secondary school based in Hounslow is looking for an experienced and motivated Head of Computer Science to lead and develop the department. This is a full‑time, long‑term/permanent position starting from April 2026 (or sooner by negotiation). The role includes responsibility for curriculum leadership, staff development, and raising standards across the department. Salary will be in line with Outer London MPS/UPS plus TLR (dependent on experience). Applicants must hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).

Responsibilities
  • Lead the Computer Science department, driving high standards of teaching, learning, and achievement across all key stages.
  • Develop and implement an ambitious and well‑sequenced curriculum that meets the needs of all learners.
  • Support and mentor staff within the department, promoting continuous professional development.
  • Monitor student progress and outcomes, using data effectively to inform teaching and intervention.
  • Contribute to whole‑school improvement and uphold the school's values and ethos.
