Job description
Overview

Overall Purpose - This role involves the day-to-day management of the Global Markets Operations in the UK and EMEA oversight.

Responsibilities
  • Manage and control the processing of all London Global Markets originated transactions, and of transactions booked in London but processed in Paris Global Markets Operations.
  • Supervise the processing of Global Markets transactions, monitoring process performance in line with global standards.
  • Own the booking processes and look for continuous improvement, streamlining and operational safety across functional silos, geographies and business units in Global Markets.
  • Contribute actively to the strategic ambitions and initiatives for the CIB and the COO, e.g. Operations impacted projects such as Front to Ops.
  • Manage the regulatory transactions reporting.
  • Act as an escalation point for all GMO related matters and coordinate projects between Head Office and sites.
  • Ensure global consistency through implementation of best practices, golden rules, processing guidelines in local sites.
  • Monitor controls at a regional level, reduce operational risk.
  • Contribute and steer GMO financial monitoring, including costs, head‑counts, budgets and reviews in collaboration with country COOs.
  • Provide leadership in restructuring and day-to-day management of the department; drive excellence in operational processes.
  • Develop strong relationships with London and Head‑Office Operations management to translate company objectives into departmental objectives.
  • Ensure the best quality of service to Business Support clients (front office sales and traders, transversal departments and downstream chain, external clients).
  • Support new business lines and initiatives, apply problem‑solving and management skills to developing new solutions.
  • Ensure internal controls and reconciliations are in place across products and reduce operational risk.
  • Analyse, report appropriately and solve outstanding and potential issues.
  • Develop monthly management reporting and dashboards consistent with the high level view of operational and financial performance.
  • Drive operational efficiency projects and impacts on GM setup across UK and EMEA operations.

  • Understanding of GM systems architecture.
