Head Chef – Destination Pub & Events Venue

Location: Colne, Lancashire

Salary: £40,000 + Bonus & Tronc

The Opportunity

A well-established destination pub and events venue with rooms is seeking a commercially strong Head Chef. The site delivers consistent trade, a fully fresh menu, and a busy events calendar including weddings, private functions, banquets, and buffets. With planned investment and growth ahead, this is a chance to take full ownership of a stable, well‑run kitchen.

The Role

You will lead all kitchen operations, driving food quality, consistency, and smooth execution across both the pub menu and event catering. You’ll manage stock, margins, wastage, rota planning, and financial controls while developing specials and seasonal dishes that fit the site’s fresh‑food ethos.

Ideal for an experienced Head Chef or a capable Sous Chef ready for progression.

Key Responsibilities
  • Run the kitchen day-to-day, maintaining strong standards and reliable service.
  • Oversee menu development, GP management, stock control, and supplier relationships.
  • Deliver high-quality catering for weddings, events, and buffets.
  • Recruit, train, and motivate a small kitchen team.
  • Ensure all food safety, hygiene, and health & safety standards are met.
  • Work with the management team on growth plans and food‑led initiatives.
About You
  • Head Chef or senior Sous Chef with experience in fresh food, high‑volume pub dining, and events.
  • Strong commercial understanding across GP, stock, wastage, and rota control.
  • Confident in creating specials and seasonal menu additions.
