Job summary

A recruitment agency is seeking a Senior H&S Consultant to assist in preparation of pre-construction information and provide guidance on health and safety compliance. This role requires a strong background in construction, awareness of CDM regulations, and health and safety qualifications such as NEBOSH. The ideal candidate should have proficiency in Microsoft Office and the ability to manage projects efficiently.

Qualifications

  • Preference for candidates with construction-related experience.
  • Awareness of CDM regulations and associated legislation is required.
  • An additional health and safety qualification such as NEBOSH Construction or General is mandatory.

MS601– Senior H&S Consultant

Salary: GBP35,000– GBP55,000 per annum DOE

Location: Birmingham

First Military Recruitment are currently seeking a Senior H&S Consultant on behalf of one of our clients. Our client encourages applications from ex–military personnel however all candidates will be given due consideration.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assist with the preparation of pre–construction information.
  • Review construction phase plans.
  • Provide advice to contractors on CDM.
  • Undertake site inspections/CDM audits.
  • Support colleagues at design team meetings.
  • Set up projects and provide administrative support.
  • Work under direction to deliver the duties of the Principal Designer.
  • Once trained, undertake site inspections and monitoring visits to determine health & safety compliance.
  • Attend project, design, and other meetings, escalating issues as required by the project plan.
  • Support senior staff as required.
Skills and qualifications
  • Preference for construction–related experience.
  • Awareness of the CDM regulations and associated legislation.
  • An additional health and safety qualification such as NEBOSH Construction or General is required (Construction is preferred).
  • An understanding of the design process and the principles of risk reduction.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Teams, and associated software.
  • Ability to ensure projects are completed efficiently and within the resource profile established before the project start.
