A leading infrastructure service provider in Stevenage is seeking a qualified Accountant to manage the Group's financial consolidation process and support key reporting requirements. The candidate will contribute to the implementation of new accounting systems and assist in the audit process. Strong technical accounting skills and the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment are essential. As an organisation, there is little we don’t do and plenty to get involved in. Our Group Support roles are vital in making sure we can help over 11,000 people deliver essential infrastructure seamlessly across water, energy, transport and telecom.
In this role, you will contribute to managing the Group’s financial consolidation process, supporting the delivery of key financial information to both internal and external stakeholders in line with established reporting timetables. You will assist in preparing reporting schedules and instructions for the wider Group to help ensure deadlines are consistently met.
You’ll play a role in implementing and maintaining new accounting systems, and participate in the periodic review of Business Unit performance, helping to enhance how results are presented and explained. You will support the audit process by coordinating with auditors and subsidiaries to facilitate the timely delivery of statutory accounts.
Additionally, you’ll be involved in ad hoc projects aimed at improving external reporting, including collaboration with the Group M&A team on significant non‑routine transactions. You’ll work closely with the Head of Group External Reporting to help develop financial policies, address technical accounting matters, and contribute to the Group’s corporate simplification initiatives.
