Group level, Product Manager Life and Pensions
Locations: London, Essex | Hybrid
The Opportunity

SS&C plays a critical role in the L&P industry, and our Product team has the opportunity to shape digital solutions for institutional investors, asset managers, and advisors. This role sits within the Global Investor and Distribution Solutions (GIDS), the business unit that delivers global omni-channel investor servicing, including contact centre, as well as digital services.

We’re seeking an experienced Group Product Manager for L&P to lead our key strategic areas and drive them to the next level. This is a high-impact role where you will drive the strategy, development, and optimisation of our platforms, ensuring they meet the needs of our clients in the Life & Pensions industry. We require passionate and confident product leaders, willing to roll up their sleeves as ICs, whilst line managing and coaching a team of Product Managers. Customers are at the core of our work, and we aim for excellence.

This is an opportunity to own and drive the strategy for two of the most critical digital touchpoints in our product ecosystem. You’ll be part of a fast-moving, highly skilled team, shaping the next generation of investment and client-facing applications.

What You Will Get To Do:

Product Strategy & Roadmap

  • Champion customer needs and discovery, to ensure we deliver valuable outcomes.
  • Define and execute the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for our reporting and data product portfolio, ensuring alignment with business goals and market needs.
  • Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to understand customer pain points, industry trends, and regulatory requirements in financial services.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance user experience, performance, and feature capabilities to create market-leading solutions.

Product Development & Delivery

  • Lead the end-to-end product development lifecycle for the products in your remit, from discovery and ideation to launch, optimisation, and ongoing enhancements.
  • Collaborate with engineering, UX/UI, and data teams to ensure the delivery of high-quality products with a strong focus on usability, security, and performance.
  • Create business cases and prioritise the product backlog, ensuring a balance between new features, technical improvements, and regulatory compliance.
  • Drive an agile and iterative approach, using data-driven insights, experimentation, and user feedback to refine and improve the user experience.
  • Ensure the products integrate seamlessly and that the right APIs are used, supporting a connected digital ecosystem for our clients.
  • Engage with the Delivery Leads and Customer Relationship Managers to help them service our Digital clients.

Stakeholder & Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with senior stakeholders, engineering teams, designers, and business leaders to align on product goals and execution.
  • Engage with clients and internal teams to gather feedback and validate product decisions, ensuring solutions meet business and regulatory requirements.
  • Partner with relationship managers and customer success teams to drive adoption, engagement, and retention for clients and their users.

Analytics, Performance & Compliance

  • Define and monitor KPIs and success metrics to track performance, user engagement, and feature adoption.
  • Work with data and analytics teams to derive insights and optimise the user experience through continuous improvements.
  • Ensure the products meet compliance, security, and accessibility standards, collaborating with legal and risk teams where necessary.

Product Team development

  • Lead, coach and scale a high-performing team of product managers.
  • Foster a collaborative and client-focused culture across the department.
  • Set clear objectives, conduct performance evaluations, provide feedback, and implement professional development plans for your team.
What You Will Bring:
  • Bachelor's degree required; MBA or relevant Master's a plus.
  • 8+ years of product management experience, in B2B, B2B2C, or enterprise software and SaaS.
  • Strong product-driven principles and craft, with over 4 years of experience operating at a senior level.
  • Proven experience in delivering products, preferably in regulated industries such as financial services, fintech, or insurance platforms. Bonus points if this is across Life and Pensions or Insurance businesses.
  • Strong understanding of strategy, development and testing processes.
  • Identifying opportunities and creating business cases is second nature to you.
  • Sharp analytical thinking and a hands-on, strategic approach.
  • Deep knowledge of product management best practices, including discovery, user experience, release management, incremental delivery, testing and monitoring.
  • Has successfully developed and launched 0-1 products, as well as feature development in existing products.
  • Has worked in AI products with an ‘AI first’ mentality.
  • Experience working with product analytics tools, user research, A/B testing, and performance tracking to drive product decisions.
  • Ability to balance user needs, commercial goals, and technical feasibility to prioritise effectively.
  • Experience working with API-driven platforms, authentication flows, and security best practices.
  • Experience managing a Product team, defining new processes, refining ways of working and improving efficiency.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work closely with engineering, UX, marketing, and leadership teams.
  • Strong communication skills at all levels. You are clear, concise, and able to articulate complex ideas to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Comfortable leading discussions with internal teams and external clients, ensuring alignment on priorities and execution.
  • Ability to work in fast-paced, agile environments, adapting to changing priorities while maintaining a focus on long-term strategy.
