Grid Engineer

UK based role, nationwide.

Up to £75,000 DOE + benefits.

An established and growing battery storage independent power provider is looking for a Grid Engineer to support the delivery of their portfolio across the UK.

This is a technically focused role with real exposure to grid interfaces, electrical compliance, and construction delivery, working closely with development, engineering and construction teams.

The company

The business develops, owns and operates utility scale renewable energy assets, with the aim of supporting the UK’s transition to net zero. They have strong backing from a major player in the renewable space, meaning they have a strong commitment to building and operating long term assets across Europe.

The group has a strong strategy to the renewable enegry sector, building and operating flexible assets to preserve the reliability of the grid. They have a simple mission, to become a leader in the utility scale BESS market across Europe.

The role

Reporting into the Head of Construction & Engineering, you’ll take ownership of HV and grid related activities across projects, from early-stage grid applications through to construction and ongoing operational support.

You’ll act as a key technical interface with DNOs, contractors and internal stakeholders, ensuring projects are delivered safely, compliantly and efficiently.

The main responsibilites are :

  • Acting as technical interface for DNO engagement.
  • Supporting pre-contract preparation and procurement for electrical works.
  • Providing technical cover in the absence of the Head of Engineering & Construction
  • Supporting maintenance strategies, reliability reviews and critical spares management

You will be :

An electrical background, with experience in DNO connections. A strong understanding of the UK grid connection space, as well as commercial skills in negotiating with various stakeholders.
