Collectively Diverse C.I.C. seeks a volunteer to help identify suitable grants and support with applications. Your skills will help us secure funding to grow our work promoting inclusion, neurodiversity awareness, and wellbeing in organisations, sports clubs and other communities.

What will you be doing?

Collectively Diverse CIC is seeking a skilled and enthusiastic volunteer to assist us in researching, identifying, and applying for grants that will enable us to expand our work promoting inclusion, neurodiversity awareness, and wellbeing.

We’re a small, values‑led community interest company with a big vision, a world where everyone has the opportunity to thrive as their authentic self. Our work focuses on training, coaching, and community projects that help schools, workplaces, and organisations build cultures of belonging.

To continue and expand this impact, we’re seeking expert support from someone who understands the world of grant funding and enjoys the challenge of finding opportunities that align with our mission.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Research and identify relevant funding opportunities from trusts, foundations, local authorities, and corporate social responsibility programmes.
  • Review eligibility criteria and priorities to assess which grants best fit our work and organisational structure.
  • Support the preparation of funding applications, drawing on existing project materials, outcomes, and impact stories.
  • Advise on funding strategy, helping us plan a sustainable approach to future funding, identify potential partnerships, and prioritise opportunities.
  • Provide guidance and feedback on how to strengthen our applications and demonstrate our impact effectively.
  • You’ll be working closely with our founder, Liz, who leads the organisation and delivers much of our inclusion and wellbeing work. We’re a small but passionate team that thrives on collaboration and shared values. Most of our energy goes into creating positive change in the community, which is why your support with funding will make such a meaningful difference.
  • We work flexibly and communicate openly. You’ll have access to all the background information, impact stories, and organisational documents you need to make your role as smooth and rewarding as possible.
What are we looking for?

We’re looking for a knowledgeable, proactive and values‑driven volunteer to help us grow our impact through successful grant funding. The ideal person will bring both technical skill and heart, someone who enjoys the process of turning ideas into compelling funding bids and believes in the power of community‑focused, inclusive work.

You’ll need a solid understanding of how to research and apply for grants, ideally within the charity, social enterprise, or community sector. Experience working with community interest companies (CICs), charities or small organisations would be a huge advantage, but we’re equally happy to hear from anyone with a background in grant writing, fundraising, or business development who wants to use their skills for social good.

We’re Looking For Someone Who:
  • Has experience in researching and writing grant or funding applications, ideally within the third sector.
  • Understands how to interpret eligibility criteria, funding priorities, and application guidelines.
  • Can craft clear, persuasive, and well‑structured applications that tell our story and demonstrate impact.
  • Has strong written communication skills, with attention to detail and a talent for presenting information clearly and creatively.
  • Is organised and strategic, able to track deadlines, manage multiple opportunities, and prioritise effectively.
  • Can work independently and collaboratively, maintaining regular communication with our founder while managing their own time flexibly.
  • Brings a positive, curious and solutions‑focused attitude. We value people who enjoy problem‑solving and finding practical ways forward.
Personal Qualities That Matter to Us
At Collectively Diverse, we deeply value kindness, inclusion, and authenticity. We’d love to work with someone who:
  • Shares our belief in equality, neurodiversity, and wellbeing.
  • Is empathetic and inclusive, understanding that people think and work differently.
  • Is collaborative and generous with their expertise, happy to share ideas and guidance.
  • A dedication to see a project through.
What difference will you make?
  • Your contribution will directly help us secure the funding we need to continue and grow our work. The grants you help us find and apply for will allow us to:
  • Deliver more inclusion and neurodiversity training in schools and workplaces.
  • Expand our community projects and wellbeing initiatives.
  • Build long‑term sustainability for our small CIC, enabling us to continue making a real difference.

This is a wonderful opportunity for someone who enjoys writing, research, and strategy, and wants to use those skills for social good. If you’re passionate about equality, inclusion, and helping purpose‑driven organisations grow, we’d love to welcome you into our community.

Thank you for your interest in volunteering with Collectively Diverse CIC! We’re excited to connect with people who share our passion for inclusion and community impact.

When applying, please include:
  • A short message telling us why this role interests you and how your experience aligns.
  • Details of your grant writing, fundraising, or bid development experience.
  • A link to your CV or LinkedIn profile so we can learn more about your background.

Once we receive applications, we’ll review them carefully and invite suitable candidates for an informal online chat (via Google Meet) with our founder, Liz Day. This is a friendly conversation rather than a formal interview, a chance to discuss the role, explore how we can work together, and answer any questions you might have.

Accountant for Neurodiversity C.I.C.

0-5 hours / month

Collectively Diverse CIC seeks a qualified volunteer to help prepare and submit our annual accounts to Companies House and our CT600 to HMRC. Your expertise will keep us compliant and allow us to focus on creating inclusive, supportive spaces for neurodivergent people and communities.

What will you be doing?

As a volunteer supporting Collectively Diverse CIC, you’ll play an important role in helping us stay financially compliant and well‑organised behind the scenes. We’re seeking someone experienced and approachable who can guide us through the process of completing and submitting our annual accounts to Companies House and our Corporation Tax Return (CT600) to HMRC.

Your key responsibilities will include:
  • Preparing and reviewing financial information to ensure accuracy and alignment with CIC reporting requirements.
  • Completing and filing the annual accounts to Companies House by the required deadline.
  • Preparing and submitting the Corporation Tax Return (CT600) to HMRC.
  • Providing light‑touch guidance on maintaining clear and efficient record‑keeping systems to make future submissions smoother.
  • Offering friendly advice on best practices for small CIC financial compliance and sustainability.

About Collectively Diverse CIC

Collectively Diverse is a community interest company built around the belief that everyone should have the opportunity to achieve their full potential. We work with schools, workplaces, and communities to promote neurodiversity, inclusion, wellbeing, and belonging. Our projects include training, consultancy, coaching, and community initiatives that help people and organisations create more inclusive spaces.

We’re a small but passionate team, led by our founder and supported by a growing network of collaborators, educators, and community partners. Most of our energy is focused on delivering meaningful impact in the community — which is why we’re seeking some expert support with the technical side of financial compliance.

What are we looking for?

We’re looking for a qualified accountant who combines professional expertise with kindness, patience, and a genuine commitment to supporting community‑led work. You’ll be helping us with something essential — completing and submitting our annual accounts to Companies House and our Corporation Tax Return (CT600) to HMRC — ensuring Collectively Diverse CIC remains fully compliant and confident as we grow.

Our ideal volunteer is someone who is not only technically skilled, but also values‑driven and understands the realities of small, purpose‑led organisations. You’ll be comfortable working independently, able to explain things clearly, and happy to share your knowledge in a supportive way.

We’re looking for someone who:
  • Is a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with up‑to‑date knowledge of financial reporting standards.
  • Has experience preparing and filing annual accounts and CT600 Corporation Tax Returns, ideally for small companies, CICs, or charities.
  • Understands CIC financial compliance and reporting requirements.
  • Whether you’re a recently retired accountant looking to use your expertise for social good, or a practising professional who wants to volunteer a little time, your contribution will have a direct and lasting impact on our organisation and the communities we support.
We’d love to work with someone who is:
  • Empathetic and inclusive, understanding that people work and think in different ways.
  • Collaborative, happy to work alongside our founder.
  • Motivated by impact, not just numbers, someone who believes in using their professional skills for good.
What difference will you make?

At Collectively Diverse C.I.C., we pour our hearts (and most of our hours!) into creating spaces where people feel seen, supported, and valued, especially those who are neurodivergent or have felt excluded by traditional systems. Our training and consultancy, all focus on helping individuals and organisations embrace inclusion and wellbeing in meaningful, practical ways.

However, like all small community interest companies, we also have essential behind‑the‑scenes responsibilities that ensure everything runs smoothly and legally. By volunteering your expertise, you’ll be helping ensure that Collectively Diverse stays compliant, transparent, and financially well‑organised. This, in turn, protects the stability and credibility of our organisation, giving funders, partners, and the community confidence that we’re managing our resources responsibly and sustainably.

Your contribution will also free up valuable time and headspace for our small team to focus on what we do best: delivering inclusion training in schools and workplaces.

In short, your help will:

  • Keep us compliant and confident with accurate, timely submissions to Companies House and HMRC.
  • Strengthen our foundations so we can continue growing and attracting funding.
  • Empower us to focus on impact, rather than admin, so more energy goes into changing lives and systems.
  • Model the power of community and collaboration, showing how skilled volunteers can amplify social change.
  • For us, this isn’t just about meeting a deadline, it’s about building capacity for long‑term, values‑led impact. You’ll be a vital part of helping us sustain and scale our mission to create a world where difference is understood, celebrated, and supported.
  • Your time, skills, and generosity will ripple far beyond the paperwork; they’ll help ensure that Collectively Diverse can continue empowering individuals, shaping inclusive cultures, and building a fairer future for all.
