Overview

Our clients provide Quantity Surveying, Structural Engineering, Estimating, Project Management and more to customers throughout London and the South East. You will be working as part of a Design team and responsible for the provision of structural drawings, specifications, design, reports and attending external/internal meetings. You will work with external partners on state-of-the-art design projects including new builds and refurbishments in London and the South-East. There is an emphasis on building design projects with work spanning across all major building types, with a particular focus on residential sectors.

Responsibilities
  • Completing a range of design work to client specification across residential and commercial projects
  • Meeting clients' requirements and project time frames
  • Working on a big range of projects, designs and materials used
  • Acting as Structural Engineer on projects large and small
  • Liaising with and leading other members of the design team to achieve a coordinated design solution that meets the Clients objectives
  • Structural engineering assessment and inspection of new and existing properties in steel, concrete, masonry and timber
  • Undertake analysis and design using a range of software packages including TEDDS
  • Ensure that the quality and consistency of technical output (drawings, reports, etc.) is maintained
  • Prepare high quality technical reports including structural surveys
About the candidate
  • Proficient in drawings and CAD software
  • Ability to confidently liaise with clients
  • Able to present technical information clearly
  • Working under pressure and to tight timeframes
  • Able to work as part of a team and on your own initiative
  • Familiar with relevant codes of practice, Eurocodes and British Standards that apply to the design of cold formed sections and building structures
  • Experience of 2D & 3D modelling software would be advantageous
  • Self-driven and results-oriented with a positive outlook and a focus on high quality work
  • Proven ability to meet tight deadlines
  • Full driving licence would be beneficial
